Profile
The Grammar School at Leeds (GSAL) is a leading co-educational independent school with 2,200 pupils aged between three to 18 years. The Junior School, Senior School and Sixth Form share a spacious green field site at Alwoodley Gates in North Leeds with the Nursery and Pre-Prep School, Rose Court, based in Headingley.
There are approximately 1500 pupils in Senior School who learn under the Diamond Model in single gender classes up to the age of 16. As well as an excellent record of academic achievement at GSAL, learning at the school extends far beyond the classroom with opportunities for a wide range of creative, sporting and intellectual activities and trips.
Subject to funds, a number of means-tested bursaries are available for entry at Year 7 and Sixth Form.
Leeds Grammar School is an independent school and registered charity that exists to educate boys aged 4 to 18. We operate a selective intake policy and there is a fee for the independent education we provide, although a number of pupils are offered means-tested bursaries. In September 2007, this school will merge with Leeds Girls' High School to create a new independent school for both girls and boys.
